Step system profiles

Step coverings and their edges are subject to much higher physical stress than other areas of flooring. The key here is to effectively protect the step edges. It is also important to form them so that they prevent slipping. We offer different profiles for this purpose in our product line. Depending on the application, you can choose from a wide variety of colors, shapes, and materials.

Stone or tile steps are extremely slippery when wet. If the edges of the steps are made of the same material as the steps then this represents a life-threatening hazard. Special anti-slip edges that are permanently bedded in mortar have the disadvantage that they can no longer be replaced if worn.

Here you see the optimal solution: a replaceable step edging profile. This means: if the rubber wears out it can be easily replaced. Even if the complete aluminium profile should wear out it can also be easily replaced.

Support profile with alfer®-fix universal hole pattern
The support profile is required to anchor the combination step profile. Simply press it into the mortar bed, if desired it can also be screw-fastened.
The support profile is made of plastic and is available in two heights.

Combination step profile
The combination step profile with the associated inserts offers an effective and decorative protection of the step edge and is extremely non-slip.
It is available in uncoated, anodized, and ceramic powder-coated aluminium.

Screws (countersunk)
Countersunk screws are required to anchor the combination step profile onto the support profile.
The countersunk screws are made of galvanized steel and thus they do not rust.

Combination step profile inserts
The grooved inserts are available in multiple colors. The various colors offer versatile combination possibilities.

Standard step profile
The standard step profile offers an effective and decorative protection of the step edge and is extremely non-slip. It is simply bonded onto the step.
It is available in uncoated, anodized, and ceramic powder-coated aluminium and plastic.

Complete standard set
Support profile and standard step profile, self-adhesive.
The standard complete set consists of one support profile and one standard step profile.
It is available in anodized aluminium and plastic.

User tips

The profiles with alfer®-fix universal hole pattern have a special perforation system with the largest possible perforations to allow the adhesive or mortar to penetrate for an optimum contact area between tile and substrate, furthermore with round and long perforations. You can use these to nail or screw the profile on, e.g. for pre-fixing in the wall area. This will make the later work stages easier.
